I took a break from the AD Corner as we were in transition to winter season with sports and it was mostly quiet on the athletic front. Now that winter games have started will pick back up with weekly articles. With that being said lets start with shoutouts.
1. To the boys basketball team for winning the Bennett Basketball Tournament. The boys went 3-0 in the tournament to the start the season beating three 3A teams. Great job fellas.
2. Congratulations to Natalia Shepperd who was voted All Conference Honorable Mention for volleyball this year in the Patriot League.
3. Congratulations to Grant Reinert, Josh Thompson, and Mike Rutledge for being voted First Team All Conference and to Hunter Umholtz and Eli Ethridge for being voted All Conference Honorable Mention for soccer this year in the Patriot League.
4. Also congratulations to Mike Rutledge on being named CHSAA Honorable Mention All-State. That’s quite the honor.
Great work to all of our fall student athletes and the accolades they received.
Below is a tongue in cheek video of a sport parents support group. Hopefully, you enjoy the short clip. Unfortunately, the truth is in some instances this isn’t a tongue in a cheek video but a reality. The problem is the behavior of the parent ends up taking the joy away from the kid. Sports become not a fun thing to do but rather a have to do to satisfy my parents. My hope is you wouldn’t see yourself in any of the video but if so lets work to stop making it about us and making it about the kids.
