Game Recap

Frontier Academy on back to back nights find themselves down in the fourth quarter, but are able to play team basketball and come back and win.

Frontier Academy jumped out early Saturday night against Byers playing with energy and creating early turnovers. the Wolverines outscored Byers 17-9 after one. ” I liked our energy early tonight.” Coach Wood stated. “We knew going in that Byers was an aggressive team on defense and would try and create turnovers. Our game plan was to apply the pressure right back on them.”

Byers did a better job of handling the Wolverine’s press in the second and third quarter. Out scoring the Wolverines in both. Going into the fourth the game was tied. Byers made a couple of quick baskets early before Frontier hit full stride and took the lead for good with about 5:00 minutes left in the game.

“We had some great play out of a lot of players tonight.” Coach Wood added. “Rylan Aikens hit two big threes tonight and Hunter Umholtz had a huge fourth quarter. Jordan Morgan had a career high 29 points and Zach Hidalgo added 15 and made a couple of great plays defensively. I really like the direction we are going. Playing team basketball and playing our best basketball going into the play-offs.”

With that win the Wolverines move to 12-6 not the season. Frontier will face undefeated Resurrection Christian Tuesday night to close out the season.
