It was a busy week for the Frontier Academy Wolverine Track and Field team.

Our JV athletes competed in the Welco JV meet on Wednesday and the Varsity Athletes competed in the Lyons Invitational meet yesterday.

At the Welco JV meet we saw some breakout performances.

Freshman Ceejay Nelson ran a fast 1:14 in the 400 meter dash for 4th place. Sarah Ellis placed 3rd in the 1,600 meter run and ran a time of 6:40.57. Passing 5 runners in the last 100 meters, Keegan Wiles followed with a 4th place and a time of 5:19.98 in the 1,600 meter run.

Under beautiful conditions in a beautiful setting, we saw a lot of personal records and 2 school records fall at the Lyons Invitational.

On the ladies’ side, Freshman Julia Brown ran 1:08.18 in the 400 meter dash. Sophomore Peyton Meyer ran 2:36.32 in the 800 meter run. In the 1,600 meter run, Molly Sears ran a personal best 5:41.21 and Sophomore Kathi LaPoint–running in her first 1,600 ever–ran 6:07.18

A new school record was set in the 3,200 METER RUN when Hannah Ellis ran 11:36.01 and placed 3rd. Emily Long was right behind her in 7th place running 12:04.68. Emily was coming off an incredible 11:41 in the 3,200 last week in California!

In the 1,600 METER RUN John Palmer and Jaden Davis both went sub 5 with times of 4:58.84 (John Palmer) and  4:59.02 (Jaden Davis).

Another highlight of the day was a dramatic 2nd Place finish by our Men’s 4X800 METER RELAY made up of Levi Chambers, Jayden Howell, Tim Chambers, and Wilson Young.
