The Frontier Academy JV Track & Field Team had a successful day at the Platte Valley JV Meet finishing in 4th place!
On a beautiful and unusually warm March afternoon Frontier Academy’s Track & Field Team arrived at the Platte Valley Stadium ready to perform.
The Throwing Team was–once again–very strong and started the meet on a powerful note. Up and coming thrower, Zong-liscum, once again had a strong performance, throwing the shot 32 ft.-03.00 inches and earning 4th place. Emily Helm threw the discuss 56 ft. 07 inches and earned 8th place out of 22 throwers.
When the running events began, Frontier Academy athletes entered the starting blocks with a commitment to perform at a very high level!
Here are some of the highlights of the running events:
In the 110 High Hurdles, Adian Frey finished 3rd with a time of 20.54 and then finished 2nd in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 51.92.

With one of the most dominating performances of the day, Sophomore distance runner Kaysi LaPoint fought off tough competition, a strong head-wind, and a last-minute surge from Annalise Basch of Estes Park to win the Women’s 1,600 meter run with a time of 6:22.96. Sarah Ellis was not far behind and delivered a strong performance–passing two runners in the last 100 meters–to capture third place with a time of 6:46.36.
In the Women’s 400 meter run, Aleigha Street ran a fast 1:13.81 and earned 5th place and then came right back and earned 3rd place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:54.81. Samantha Angus was 4th in that same race with a time of 2:55.31.
In the Men’s 800 meter run, Jayden Howell dominated the field for a powerful 1st place finish and a time of 2:14.11.
