Last night, Frontier Academy took on Valley in another conference matchup. In the first half, neither team could break through for a goal despite major pushes from both sides. In the second half the Wolverines were lifted by their leading scorer and senior Robert Vickerman halfway through the second half. But Valley stormed back adding a goal of their own late in the game causing it to go into overtime. Both teams aggressively took shots in extra time but it was the “Golden Goal” from the foot of Vickerman that gave the Wolverines the win in OT.
This win brings the Wolverines to 5-6 (3-2) and puts them in a good spot in the Patriots League standings. The Wolverines look improve their conference standing as they head to Estes Park on Tuesday to take on the Tigers in their second matchup of the season.
