Friday night in Lyons, the Wolverines started off slow in the first half but bounced back in the second, and came away with a much needed victory 67-57. Frontier Academy was down at half 41-27, and down 18 at one point. “The Lions hit 5 threes in that first half. We did not do a good job of playing team defense. We talked at half-time that if we were going to get back in the game we needed to tighten up our defensive effort.” Coach Wood said.
The Wolverines did just that holding Lyons to 4 points in the third quarter and only 16 points the second half. “We played so much better as a team on both ends of the floor. We had better shot selection in the second half but really it was our defense that won the game.”
Zach Hidalgo lead all scores with 29 points. Lukas Bowles added 14, Collin Channel 9, James Pike 8, Hollis Fitzgerald 5 and Jesse Hayward 2
The Wolverines have two big games next week Home against Valley on Tuesday and travel to Brush on Thursday.
