Wolverines News · Frontier Loses Pig-Tail game

In Estes Friday Night the Frontier Academy Wolverines lost their Pig-Tail game, to get into the district tournament, to Estes Park 68-64.

“Very disappointing loss.” Coach Wood said after the game.  “We had our chances but too many turnovers and missed shots inside the key ended up doing us in.”  The Wolverines  struggled most the night to find the basket.  “I looked at the shot chart at half-time and thought if we could just put the basketball in the basket when we get our looks we are up 20 right now instead of down one.”  Frontier trailed at half-time 32-31.  The Wolverines missed 17 shots inside the paint in the first half and 31 for the game.

The second half.  Estes jumped out to a 10 point lead.   Frontier made a big come back and found themselves up 6 in the fourth quarter.  Estes cut the lead in half with a three point play and then shortly after took the lead back from the Wolverines and held on for good.

The Wolverines were led in scoring by:  Zach Hidalgo 18, Collin Channel 14, Lukas Bowles 10.

The Wolverines will now wait to see if they can hold on to one of the state play-off spots.
